My name is Brian Petroff and I have been writing and performing songs since my grandparents gave me three chords and an old guitar. One of these days I'll get it right.
My approach to music and writing is my own but I've drawn inspiration from many places - family and friends, animals, books, travel, landscape, other musicians and their melodies.
My canine sidekick (the Mild Dog) is Oliver and he hears it first. I learned to play where the grass was bluest and the sound of the blues always brings a smile. I hope to see you at the next show!
I'll be performing with other local artists in Michigan and Ohio through the spring and summer.

One of the great joys of music is sharing it, both with an audience and with other musicians. In Tammy Cook I've found a great co-artist for music nights at venues around the Lansing area.
You can learn more about Tammy on YouTube.

Well it’s time to see
What I can do
To bring a smile
And a buck or two
But I know before
The night is through
I’ll be thinking
About you
(and that brings a smile)
Six strings
and half a truth
For these i offered
Up my youth
Washed it out
In 90 proof
But i would have lost it
Anyway
[Somewhere someone
Must have said it better
But i hope
These lines can hold one thought
Put a pin in it
Mail it off in a letter (to myself)
You’re the best
of everything I’ve got
And I love you]
I guess this song
just goes to show
You get what you pay for
But even so
Sometimes i get more
than i deserve
And for that I thank you
(V1 reprise)
